Our Excellent Pub Food MenuFood plays an important part in the success of the pub and it now has a great reputation in the North Staffordshire/Cheshire area for the size of the portions, the consistent good quality of the food and also for the use of seasonal produce. The excellent range of food is available every evening and every lunchtime with the exception of Monday lunchtime. On Sundays, a choice of two traditional Sunday roasts are always available. The interesting and varied menu changes on a regular basis and meals are added in accordance to the time of year and the fresh produce available locally. We are well known for many signature dishes thanks to our head chef, Steve. His steak and stilton pie is legendary and his Piri Piri Chicken is outstanding! Vegetarians are well catered for as Anna, is a vegetarian who like to eat delicious veggie food rather than the typical ‘mushroom stroganoff’ found in lots of pubs! The ‘Cheshire cheese sausages with wholegrain mustard mash and caramelised onion gravy’ or ‘homemade veggie burritos’ are particularly tempting!
‘The Crown’ is equally proud of its reputation for good beer. We are a CASKMARQUE awarded free house and have also won ‘The Taste of Staffordshire Good Food Awards – Real Ale Award’ ‘CAMRA Pub of the Month’ and the ‘Beautiful Beer – Platinum Award’. We are the only pub in Staffordshire to have achieved this accreditation. There is always a choice of six traditional cask ales, two of which are regularly changing regional ‘guest beers’ along with a trio of lagers, Guinness and Thatcher’s Gold. Wine plays an integral part of our drinks portfolio and a choice of twelve wines is always offered by the glass as well as more by the bottle.
